With the Fraser River Bridge at New Westminster out of commission, BC Hydro’s Valley Freight to Huntingdon needed to detour on CP to access interchanges with BN and MILW, resulting in a southward detour crossing the home-road mainline at Clayburn with all three MP15DC units, BCH 152 + 151 + 153, for power on Thursday 1976-04-22.

The little cabin beside CP’s milepost 4 marker enclosed the manual interlocking controls for that diamond crossing.

  1. Wonderful image ! Interesting that it’s 1976 and BCH is already applying ditchlights.
