Yard switcher CP 3011 (GP38AC built 1971) gets serious extra muscle from CN 3001 (ET44ac built 2015) and CP 8871 (ES44ac built 2008) as they switch tank cars in Port Coquitlam yard. Viewpoint is the Coast Meridian Overpass (bridge).
Highrise buildings in the background are in Port Coquitlam, while the residential area further up the hill is in Coquitlam.

  1. GP38AC is not like modern AC suffixed locomotives; the AC part of CP 3011 is just the main generator (alternator), whose AC output is rectified to DC to power traditional DC traction motors – which became the usual arrangement thereafter.
