Only a few months "pre-VIA", this late day #75, always running with something of interest, sweeps around the curve past Bayview Jct on its way west with CN 6793, 6618, 'VIA' 6631 and CN 4103. The close track, now long gone, was once used for steam engine helpers for those trains climbing the long Dundas grade west. In later years, MoW was stored there.

  1. Great shot, classic Alco power at a classic location. Only time I ever rode behind an Alco cab unit was on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR in Akron, OH. They have ex-CN FPA-4 #6780 painted as B&O 800. I believe this is the nearest place to ride behind an operating Alco cab unit for those in southern Ontario. Regards, Pete northamericabyrail.info

  2. Another great “Mooney Shot” of interesting power and taken from an unusual vantage point. Was the Laking Gardens Walkbridge built at that time?

  3. Laking Walkbridge was already up and loitered on by this time, but it was a poor second place to hanging out at the Jct itself. Walkbridge went up back in fall of 1975. The Jct had our “on site” parking from where one could watch for traffic in all weather.
