   Good shot with human interest in it.
   Was this the last place for “orders” before the train got to Toronto Yard?

   I believe that the building behind used to be the “Section House” a place where a few of the section forces lived. That’s what the old timers used to say.

   Re the question about train orders: this was typically the last location that eastbounds picked up train orders. There was an operator on days in the Streetsville station & during the early 1980s track program related train orders were sometimes issued for last minute changes in track speeds etc.

   The Streetsville operator only had the old style cane hoops, not the string “Y” ones, and they hurt the inside of the arm at 50 mph..so the few times I got hoops there, I deliberately held onto them until we went over the Credit River by Reid’s Mill & threw them off the bridge, thinking they would run out eventually & replace them with string hoops.
