Its a nice bright late fall day as a northbound, having just left Englehart, with ONR 1734, 1806 and 1808 is about to duck under Hwy 112 on its way to Swastika and the junction taking this short train thru Kirkland Lake onward to Rouyn-Noranda. All three units are still in active service as of 2013.

    When they re-named Berlin Kitchener, perhaps they should have re-named Swastika. I find it amazing that that community still has that name.

    When I first realized as a kid that there was indeed a place name ‘Swastika’, I was thinking the same thing. I have been thru there a number of times, and next time that way if I can find a geezer that looks like he has spent most of his life around there, I’ll ask him what the townsfolk think of that name. After all, they could have easily taken up a petition to change it.
