HBIX 9359, leased for years to Oxy Vinyls in Thorold/Port Robinson, is now homeless after being replaced by a SW1000 leased from LTEX. 9359 is presently stored in Southern Ontario Railway's Stuart Street yard in Hamilton, ON. The SW1200 was built for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

  1. Quite sure I remember this unit in black dress, Rob. How long has it been painted orange?

  2. Good question. I found a picture of it painted black in 2001. I learned something, I’ve always known it in orange. I see they also removed the unique spark arrestor.

  3. Sure looked black (in photo) back then however, I was told by someone knowledgeable in loco matters as follows: Broer bought and had it repainted by Altoona – they apparently offered to use their “executive” green colour (almost black) for no extra charge, so he said Yes!
