Grand River Railway electric freight motor 228 sits outside the GRR's shops in Preston ON. Passenger service had ended a few years earlier and at the time it was the "end of the line" for electric freight service as well: in 1961 the GRR dieselized its freight operations with SW1200RS and SW8 units owned by parent CPR.
