This is a very nice train but the place certainly looks empty. (I cheated and used Google) Since it was a Tuesday that might explain. The traffic on Highway 403 was light enough 30 years ago that getting in front of it would not be an issue. The same can’t be said today. As you keep saying, things have changed in that area. You probably had the best for rail photography.
It must have been a cold day for the lot to be empty. The “Gardens” people closed it up a few years ago, presumably because it sickened them to see people getting to use the facility for free…..it was a tremendously popular place on a summers’ eve many years back; a place to sit out and watch the trains, read, and relax. Gorgeous floral displays. That was before the days of greed set in.
Another great catch Mr. Mooney. It sure is a different place there these days. I was only 11 in 1987, but I would’ve enjoyed an afternoon enjoying the sites and sounds of this location.

Thanks for your appreciation…..one thing about Hambone, there are numerous good train watching places in the area. And some great scenery. Such as the Baywiew Walkbridge and of course Dundas. Sorry I’ll not have much to share with you in few weeks as it is vacation time
