Today, Canadian Pacific is once again hauling 3 DME engines in for scrap. CP 246 is powering up with CP 8911 on point and CP 8711 for the additional power as they head out of Kinnear yard after making a few drops. DME 6201, DME 6091 and DME 6367 are headed on their last ride to Buffalo to meet their fate.

  1. I’m wondering how many of these DME are heading down to Buffalo. Anyone know?

  2. where in Buffalo do they scrap ‘em?

  3. So far 7 DME have gone via Buffalo; there’s a few more to come, plus some CP’s.
From a CP standpoint, the “destination” is Buffalo but the ultimate destination is Lordstown OH for Larrys Truck Electric. And there’s nothing cast in stone that they’ll be scrapped, though the market for 6 axles is quite soft.
