Control stand of brand new CN ET44AC 3051. Computer screens have replaced guages and knobs have replaced cords for things like the horn and bell. 3051 is also equipped with PTC and of course has a microwave, hotplate, fridge and AC. A man cave on wheels?

  1. Hey phil…what have you been on lately…havent heard you around since I think a Saturday a month ago – 570 I think it was.

  2. @Greg..yes sir a brand spankin new ET44AC 3114! 371 originates in Toronto with traffic that connects from Montreal as far as I know. The 371 from Montreal normally consists of all auto traffic and changes off at Jane St and does not go into Mac Yrd. It heas west with a stop at Beechville. 371 that originates out of Mac is usually a mixed train (just like 393) with a head end set off at Beechville.

  3. ahhhh Phil….you got a nice little engine today, eh?

Hey- ques for you..does 371 (the ghost of 393 ) run through the connecting track from Montreal? do you know where it terminates? tx Greg

  4. Hey Greg, problems with the air today..had to put it in emergency, could have been a runaway, but got stopped before anything bad happened.

  5. Hi Phil…how was the train from hell today ???
    What happened at Milbase? Greg.

  6. Hey Greg, no the IC unit was trailing. I ran lite power to the Dundas Sub then down the cowpath to Hamilton for my lift

  7. Phil was the IC leading on the way in today?

  8. 524=Phils train.
    Cushy day job..

  9. LOL..yes that was me. They ordered a crew from Mac Yrd to come to Aldershot this evening to bring that 524 to Mac.

  10. Hi Phil – was a trespasser fatality at Silver.

heard you on Sat on “phils train” with the 1008 leading.

    524=phils train.

  11. Hey Greg, no idea about whats going on today. I am off right now but will let you know as soon as I hear anything.

  12. Hey Phil – Halton Sub closed Wed PM…524 tie ing down at aldershot….do you know what has happened? Greg

  13. Hi Greg, I hope you got a shot of 3120? It is indeed rare to see a standard cab these days on CN. I was lucky enought to have operated the 9300 class in both GO and CN service.
As for the DPU’s, the only train that you may see DPU’s on would be 421 and it operates after 130am. The odd train from Sarnia may be DPU but I have not seen one in months. The majority of DPU’s are on eastbound and northbound trains out of Mac Yrd.

  14. Hey Phil…399 Friday evening…made a lift at Aldershot…middle unit was a freshly painted IC standard cab GP 40 3120. nice . seems bizarre seeing a standard cab GP40 ! Looked good.

Havent seem a DPU on this side for weeks now…have they stopped?

    greg

  15. LOL@snake.. no I am not back on 524 :-) It was an extra trips as there were no engineers in Pt.Rob to bring the train to MAc Yrd. Urgh..i hate those unit..so uncomfortable and the trailing 2100 had an electrical fire and was shut down. Crappy units

  16. Hey Phil…you returned to 524…”PH’s” train……didn’t you just love that 2100 leading >>?
