GMTX 223 sits coupled to a dimensional load from Trenergy Plant in St. Catharines Ontario. The 223 is the latest face of the Trillium Railway as they begin to turn to a more reliable motive power source over their ailing ALCOs. 223 will be returning to the GMTX with a new unit, GMTX 333 now on the Trillium property.

  1. Lucky you. I caught 1859 yesterday trying to catch this guy. Nice catch!

  2. I’d rather see 1859….. these new locomotives do nothing for me.

I’m Glad I spent time on Trillium in the ALCO era.

  3. Bring on 333!

  4. When you live in Niagara, seeing 1859 is like seeing a gevo on CN lol. It’s nice to see a little colour down here.

  5. Honestly, This is why I’ve been moving away from Trillium. I hope to railfan it once more but. It’s so out of my way and I don’t know the times for them. So if I were to go out I’d tag up with someone who knows there times and/or has a scanner.

  6. How much our comments have aged, eh Gents. Trillium is nice again :)

And moreover the Alco’s are still here.

  7. Yeah, where’s the shots of LDSX 7920? I may go to try to find it on my week off in September. All-black 1859 still isn’t overly appealing. I doubt it’ll ever see Gio Rail silver!

  8. I did post one from Sarnia (http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=49123) but I haven’t seen anyone post it in service in Niagara yet!

108 lost any soul it had when the red cab end and trillium logo were painted out…

But they do sound pretty good working though.

We’ll miss them when they are gone regardless.
