Looking eastward down the CP line at the old CPR/C&O Interlocking Tower. One can see the CP Chatham Yard in the distance. The tower and the C&O line are long ago history........

  1. About 18 months before we moved to town…looks like a recent rainshower has left it’s mark on the ceement office. And some very recent stone tampings by one owner or the other (beneath the points).
Was the CP engine an 8100 or a 6700??

  2. Sorry, BEM’r. Didn’t walk in so no pic. And definitely no recollection.

  3. Hey Arnold – RIGHT behind you..there is a train &#^&#%#@(@@*#*#(#)!!

    ………………………
    ……. ……….
    ………..

  4. Definately could try to walk in there today…but not recommended. Trespassing signs everywhere. Although at Kent Bridge I was talking to one of the crew members while they were switching. He stated as long as us fans stay a safe distance away….they have no problems with us going for a shot….still….don’t think I’d dare to venture into their yard here in town. Although tempting now seeing your photo Arnold….

  5. Likely not worth the effort Todd. I can’t imagine, except for possible short-term auto related storage cars, that either side would have many cars coming/going from local customers, however few they could now be.

  6. Still…it could make for a great Time Machine shot..if there was a train coming towards you just around that bend, and not have it behind you!

  7. Bruce, that would be the yard power, it was usually a 6700. Sometimes on Sunday, eastbound No 80 would be required to switch Campbell Soup in the Industrial spur west of downtown. They would yard their train & run the road power near the year engine and take it to switch Campbells. By the time that operation was done 904 was usually close and 80 would have to stay in the clear and follow h904 to London.
