It might have been one miserable dull late afternoon, but the sighting of a 4 unit TH&B Starlite certainly brightened the day up for me. Due to work, I was not getting out to the Junction as often as I would have liked. This capture of TH&B 76, 75, 401 and 72 has been a favourite of mine. And no one else was around at Bayview to enjoy it. Sad that it has been 30 years since we witnessed TH&B painted locomotives making the rounds.

    Nice train. How many cars would there typically be? Would most have been forwarded on to Conrail through Niagara Falls?

    Starlite was usually rather healthy by the standards of the day. Anything and everything could be in consist, but I do imagine most of it would head Stateside on the nocturnal that left Abderdeen daily. There were truck trailer unloading facilities at Chatham St as I remember. Not sure when they were last used. Typical car count on the Starlite around the late 70s/early 80s, going by my notes, was 45-60.

    Another great shot Mr. Mooney. Have a couple of those locomotives in HO scale that I get out for my dad to enjoy on my layout. That and these pictures are as close as I get to enjoy that time period of railroading. Thank you!
