So I found Part 2 which was actually part 1. The Hotshot ran around the other westbound at Bayview to lead it up the hill. The second unit is a Conrail GP38-2; foreign power being pretty rare in those days. It seems odd ot see TOFC in well cars, but that is where they began in Canada; CN "Laser" service.

    The unit wasn’t part of Conrail Leasing, was it? CRL lettering on the cab. Just curious.

    I believe those former Conrail GP38s were leased from EMD. They were quite common in the early 1990s until the C44-9Ws and SD70s arrived.
