Wow hard to believe GO trains used to be this small unlike the typical 12 car trains we see operating today! And the gp40 is a treat too!

Nice shot! There is a ton to see here.
Just under the “CN Fort York” sign, you can see an overgrown track – this was CP’s access to industries on the harbour, and only a few years before this shot, it had diamonds across ALL of those Oakville sub tracks. It passed through a narrow space between the buildings on the right/north to reach the CP yard at the bottom of the Galt sub.
Obviously the two railways came to their senses and worked something out about that by ’88 – the redesigned connection is the sharply curving track at the bottom left of the frame.
The “great white fleet” of CN MOW cars is something long gone from the scene too.
Mr. Mooney, that one made me laugh. Let us not forget that this area now, is “gentrified” with “condos”. Or at least the view is obstructed by said condos.
Samsung Microwaves? Are these the ones that weigh a metric ton and were big enough to cook a dinner for 4?
