Yeah, so I decide to shoot the Starlite off the hillside at the Royal Botanical Gardens for a change as it was not too much trouble fitting in 3 or 4 units. That is the time they have to send 6, and I cannot get a decent shot due to the angle and the brush, so grab this "going shot" with all the power and some of the fans and their cars in the scene. Such a gathering tells me it is a weekend. Consist is TH&B 77, 76, 73, 403, 53 and CP 8756. Another cruddy dull cold and miserable day, weatherwise.

  1. Not sure what’s more eclectic; the collection of GM/MLW power or Detroit iron? (not an import in sight!!) Thinking No. 53 has a dragging brake on the radiator end.

  2. I still have never purchased an “import” as we know them by name; but everything has changed so who knows where all the parts come from…..

  3. ..hmm, lets see..
    Four GMD’s
    One MLW
    One Pontiac
    One Chev
    One Ford
and gotta love that CP Rail logo
and even better CP Rail allowed TH&B to retain it’s identity

  4. Looks like a rail gang will be going through there shortly on all mainline tracks. 1979 was a very busy year for tie, rail, and ballast on the then CN Great Lakes Region.
