Hate to say it, but I enjoy this place too much. A nice park, wide open view (with trees that continue to get taller and taller over the years, slowly making it harder to shoot this bridge from end to end) and a town rich in railway history. While St. Thomas is a shadow of its former self, there's still great memories being made. Witness OSR's matching F units across a CNR bridge that hosted Wabash/N&W F units for decades - they belong here. They were also made not too far from St. Thomas at GMDD London. OSR Keeps it looking good, and the next act might be three matching F units across this bridge. Never say never! It just might happen in the not too distant future. Thanks again to the crew who remarked that it should have looked great over the bridge. I agree!

  1. I see a new page banner in our future… :)

  2. LOL. Oh man i need more free time to do some programming. I just dont have very much at this juncture. Maybe when my kids learn to drive. 7 years to go :)

  3. Nailed this one. Nicely done, Stephen.

  4. Glad you like it Earl.

  5. This pair is going to end up more popular than old CN 6060 was for the earlier generation of train nuts. Delightful image!!!

  6. I tend to agree, except I was the only photographer! Then again, maybe everyone else had work :)

OSR seems to prefer these on the St. Thomas job, it’s been fairly well known that the Woodstock crews don’t prefer switching with pairs of F units – so a GP9 is usually added for compromise owing to easier to use footboards for switching.

  7. But imagine the turnout if this pair was running passenger specials from Toronto to Niffles and back twice a week !!!!:o)

  8. Isn’t it funny that by 2022 these units are essentially parked and only used for 2 plow runs and 1 business car special..thats it.

Otherwise the pups or alcos are used for fuel savings
