It looks like Edmonton won't have to worry about a green Christmas this year. The snow-mobilers seem to be enjoying the deep snow.
From down near the Sturgeon River, this is the view up on the west side of the valley as 419 climbs the hill. This near daily train out of Edmonton's Walker yard is on its way to McLennan. This is typical power, but when I first arrived in Edmonton, F units were still in used on this line.

  1. Really enjoying your photos from the mid-1990′s Steve. It was such a great time to be a railfan.

4790 is currently assigned to Kitchener on trains 540 and 568.

  2. Thank you.
