Word got out and spread like wildfire that 7022 was going to be on 246 this evening. Without really thinking about it, I assumed it would be leading. I headed over to Kinnear figuring I'd try some night shots. And when I got there, word had clarified that it was in fact trailing - what a crushing realization that was. It was now down to hoping they had to make a head end lift, and that they'd rest long enough and in a location where I could pull off a couple of shots. Luck was on my side, there was no set off, but three cars to lift on the head end. They got to Kinnear and let me tell you, I was pretty awestruck by the 7022. They set off their train, pulled ahead to the crossover, and the conductor walked back to throw several switches with allowed time to fire off a few shots. The bus stop sign was about the only thing available to frame the shot and provide a mark of location here in Hamilton.
