Who's koo koo crazy to get up at 0530 to shoot a train here at some ungodly morning hour? Me. The sun has barely had 20 minutes to warm the ground and I am standing on the side of the Trafalgar rd overpass to get under the wires and the time is 0638. Years ago we had a grade crossing at Trafalgar and I shot CP's Business train but from ground level. But why did I put the sleepless effort into this? Truth is a few days ago during my 2 week vacation I got up early to shoot 7023 leading a 234 and it ended up not leading.. so this is redemption and why I had to get up early - now I can strike this military unit off my TODO list and strike the thought of getting up early for it next time it happens, I much prefer a little more sleep in my life :) At least the light is as good as it gets!

  1. This is clean

  2. You sure were early. Looking at this photo I think you might have been wired as well.

  3. LOL. Yes, it was too early. I was tracking 7023 as it progressed east and I was certain it would go through in darkness.. arrived wolverton 0327.. when I woke at 0530 and realized it had not been by and had just departed wolverton.. my fate was sealed.

One use for these long summer days at least!

  4. Yes this was worth getting up at 5 for! I was pretty burnt out by the evening though!

  5. Dont be a wuss. That crew has probably been on duty since 0100.

  6. HAHAHA…Dave…thats tellin’ him !! :o )

  7. LOL there’s a reason I’m not a Railroader – that’s one of them. Sorry to the railroaders out there, but it’s not the job for me!
