Brains meet brawn - The brawn of GEXR's few thousand horsepower pass by the brains at Google who are harvesting our data on a daily basis to serve us ads. I made sure to capture this angle, as where I'm standing, the now empty lot which used to host a Beer Store and Korean Grocery soon become the Transit Hub for Waterloo - both a heavy rail and LRT station. For some reason, KW is hot to trot to build a highrise with mixed use as part of it, But the project has been stillborn and is going to new contractors and up for design - again. Too bad the Kitchener VIA station is not part of the Region's plans for a transportation hub, I guess it's not high rise enough. That's right, get your shots, the VIA station most certainly won't be used for trains once this lot is filled in. Construction has yet to begin as of 2020.
Earlier in the day I was out in the country with Jason Noe and we captured this then chased the train east. Fun day!

  1. Yes Steve that was a fun morning. If only CN ran a turn from Stratford to Kitchener in the morning it would be great.

Also, your shot can’t be replicated now as there is a large chain link fence along the right of way here. Glad we shot this when we did!
