The CN 15:30 Kitchener Job with 4107 is about to cross Guelph Street in Kitchener on the Waterloo Spur as the crew is on the home stretch back to the Guelph Subdivision as they returned from Elmira. As this was a Friday, the crew likely started early as they occasionaly did to complete their switching and work week sooner. Following their journey on the Waterloo Spur their next destination was likey a trip down the Huron Park Spur in Kitchener to service the Budd Plant.

  1. A very nice scene Jason! Love the tiny bit of snow in the photo composed with the gp9rm long hood! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thanks for the comment Graydon.

  3. Huron Park spur with just that for power?

  4. Yes Steve, most times during the mid-90′s the 15:30 Job would only operate with one unit to switch the Budd Plant. However, on occasion they would use both GP9RM’s assigned to Kitchener, especially if they had a larger train for Elmira that day.

  5. I imagine back then they were still ‘new’ and not filled with mechanical ailments..

  6. Yes Steve, the rebuilt GP9′s were favourites of the crews as well as before there arrival Kitchener had mostly SW’s assigned. After May 1993, CN never assigned another SW1200RS to Kitchener or Stratford.
