A Southern Ontario Railway (SOR) train is heading west on the CN Dundas Subdivision up the grade at Copetown with RLK 1200 and RLK 1752 with cars for either Brantford or Paris from Hamilton. At the time, the Inksetter Road bridge was undergoing a complete overhaul and was completely removed over the CN mainline.

  1. I’ve never seen a picture of this slug leading a train on the Dundas sub….

Also tanks?? I know the Steel Train was a thing but I didn’t know they ran regular freights from Hamilton to Brantford…

  2. Not a slug Steve, 1200 was a working B-unit originally built as part of an EMC TR set in 1940 (some call them a “calf” to the mother “cow”), and later rebuilt by IC as an SW13B.

Odd to see it leading n the main like this.

  3. I think these occurances were rare for SOR to bring an entire train west from Hamilton. It would be interesting to know the back story on this run or if it had occurred before or after again.
