Three SD40-2s, BCR 762 758 and 757 are in the yard at Lillooet. It's hard to believe we could wander around as freely as we did back then.

  1. Trying to explain to people we could wander like that is difficult as well. It is not just a ‘saying’ when we comment on “good old days.” The loss of personal freedom has been substantial in recent years.

  2. Yes … I suppose some of the changes have come about for good reason although I can’t think of one, and common sense once played a large part in how we were able to shoot and stay safe at the same time. How times have changed …

  3. Sadly, its all about liability :-( I remember as a kid being able to sign a paper that let me photograph trains at CN Spadina and CP Agincourt yard. Also in Roseville CA and Bakersfield CA. When I hired on I used to be able to bring friends for train rides and often did. I was even challenged at work a few times by shop staff that saw me taking pictures at Mac Yrd. The times sure did change.
