The Baldwin 606SC engine (sans turbo) of 8011 in the air during scrapping at Wellcox yard in Nanaimo on Tuesday 1974-07-30. One near-comical tension relief during the scrapping was when each engine was first lifted clear. All shopstaff “knew” there should be a treasure trove of tools lost underneath during earlier years, never to be retrieved unless the engine was removed, but nothing of significance was ever discovered there, much to the prime scavenger’s dismay!
