East of Calgary, train No. 2 The Canadian on Thursday 1976-10-14 was timetabled at 1741 MDT at Tilley, not long after I took a calculated break from the Trans Canada Highway on a road trip westward, and to my considerable (CP employee) satisfaction the train passed by precisely on time, with 1403 and 1416 and seven cars making good use of the 75 mph permitted speed on that stretch of ABS single main track.
