Awh!!! The Good Old Days already....for me. I used to love seeing stuff like this.... CP exercising their trackage rights over the CN Oakville back then. Not only did it make for more traffic as seen from the 'railfans walkbridge', it made for some interesting head end power combinations as well. CP 8206, 4229, 8226, 8237, 8211 and 1624. All units now off the CP roster. Interesting to note that the trailing unit was sold to Aspen Crossing Railway (Alberta) in 2015 and is still active there; as shown in a photo posted on RP a couple of days ago.

  1. Another winner AW!

  2. You got a two unit bonus. Funny how we used to get sick of seeing four GP9s on CP, and three GP40-2W on CN around this time. Nowadays if these consists came along there would be a gaggle of foamers chasing it!

  3. Thanks, Mr. Engineer Lad.

And you’re right, Mr. Smith……..once upon a time the GPs were the same old, same old. And, right again, I did get a two unit bonus. Back then I guess we figured the view from the bridge would never get as quiet as it is today. Ironically, now 3 tracks instead of 2.

  4. This is great!
