The Helm leasing units that came to fill in a motive power void were a nice change of pace even if they didn’t last all that long. The story I heard was the Woodward equipment on board was too complicated to maintain fit the small GEXR maintenance team. Here train 432 has a former CN SD40 and ex DRG&W SD45 rebuilt into a SD40 up front with a RailAmerica GP35 as they get head room at Kitchener.

  1. Nice photo Marcus. Those boxcars likely were just lifted at Clarke Transport as 432 would usually lift there on their way east during the weekends.

  2. I was gonna say.. hogger really let go for that head room or they were prolly reversing…

  3. Thank
Makes more sense, or the units have terrible brakes ????
