In Mennonite country on a spring morning, GMD1u 1437 shoves towards St. Jacobs with a short passenger train that ever so briefly operated between St. Jacobs and Elmira on the Waterloo Spur. Former CN 1437 was donated to the Waterloo Central Railway (WCR) by CN hours earlier during the night and this was its inaugural journey on the WCR as the crew took it for a quick run.

  1. Crazy this only happened once in this paint…

    (that i’m aware of)

  2. Interesting coincidence………a passenger related e-mail list I’m on has been discussing “horse cars” like the one behind the locomotive in this picture.

  3. Thanks for the comments Steve and Robin.

Too bad they didn’t go further up the spur this day, however at least it happened.
