With the regular coal train route to and from Roberts Bank closed (possibly due to work on the bridge at Mission City), this empty eastward train has detoured over BN north from Colebrook and over the Fraser River bridge at New Westminster then up the Westminster sub. on CP to the mainline junction (now Macaulay) half a mile west of this photo taken on Saturday 1972-11-04. MLWs like 4565 and 4562 were regular coal power in the early years of Roberts Bank trains. Despite being in the city of Port Coquitlam, CP maintained the station name Coquitlam for many years, with two train order offices, this one “JN” on the main and “YD” in the yard.
