After a scheduled 1725 departure from South Edmonton and 30.8 miles onward, No. 304 with RDC2 9107 departed the 1907-built depot at Wetaskiwin right on time at 1803 MDT on Thursday 1978-09-14. That depot survives to present day (2022), as does the distant Unifeed (now UGG) elevator.

  1. Oh how I miss the 70s, with all those stations and grain elevators, not to mention the power!!

  2. What a great day June 5th, 1985 was. We took 26 preschooler’s from Edmonton to Wetaskiwin and back. A very fun morning, this scene at the station looks so familiar. Our ticket folder states; DP. South ED @ 8:25, AR. Weta @ 9:03. Then DP. Weta @ 10:58, AR. South Ed. @ 11:40. Perfect morning out for kids. Sadly, it all ended 3 months later on Sept.8/85, rail liners were pulled.
