  1. Impressive shot of a nice train. Being aware of the VIA #1′s on-time performance, I get to wondering how long you had to wait around for this image.

  2. Planning and Patience. Using VIA’s mobile map app you can get an idea of where it might be. Map not always accurate and timing can change quickly. On this trip we figured Unity was a good bet and arrived in town about 1 minute before the train. On departing Unity the ETA for Wainwright was 20:00, it actually pulled into Wainwright at 19:00. So it shaved a complete hour of the estimated time, this is possible because of the ridiculous amount of recovery time built into the schedule to allow for CN’s weird and wonderful dispatching. VIA chasing is defenitely an adventure.
