My fear of being stuck on the highway by an avalanche or accident kept me grounded close to home. Needless to say I didn’t get out much during my stint in the mountains, but being home with code blue skies and an early afternoon westbound departing Revelstoke I headed to the Last Spike to see what I could work with. Pillowy snow coated everything at the historical landmark 45 km west of Revelstoke which is run by the Revelstoke Museum. The angles are tight here, and I tried my best to frame the Vancouver bound hotshot amongst the old CP van, monument and gift shop while also trying to get over the chain-link fence and deal with those pesky hydro wires. Beauty. This is a very difficult shot in the summer with so much foliage and bad sun angles. I went up on this hillside to check it all out but ended up shooting down by the building, and of course the fence is a real deterrent. You did great. I’m surprised you wandered at that time of the year.

Thanks Arnold. It wasn’t very often I’d venture. I arrived at the darkest time of year and it only seemed like there were only a couple hours of daylight after the sun got above the mountains and ducked back behind them and it was often cloudy. I did venture down to Vernon and Kelowna a couple times in hopes of catching something on the KPR, but no luck.
