  1. Awh, nice. Dranoel is Leonard spelled backwards. Another one of those weird railroad names.

  3. Not really certain why Steve, but probably for fill out and possible additonal braking. Or maybe, just to make the trip look like a real train. Who knows???

  4. Great image! If I recall correctly this was one of the final break-in runs shortly before the locomotive was delivered to Ottawa. It was a non-revenue trip – the passengers were invited dignitaries and ORA members who had been involved in the restoration. I brought my brother along as my guest. It was a really fun day. I took a ton of photos and then destroyed the film while developing it in our basement darkroom. Great memories – thank you for posting!
