I never thought I'd see a foreign unit on our area Branchlines. This one seems quite a home given that it's not too different than the G&W Orange that plied these rails for about a half decade when the first Orange units arrived in 2014. BNSF 2968 is also one of the oddest ones on the "BNSF Borrowed" CN roster: A 567 powered (rebuilt) and given a turbo, now a GP39V as per it's 12/1990 VMV Paducahbilt (NRE) rebuild. The air conditioning must be a welcome relief for the folks in the cab this summer. This unit was in Oakville earlier this week but Oakville kicked both BNSF's to the curb as fast as they could as they didn't like them. Kitchener did the same too. Can anyone say hot potato? Feel free to give your guesses why below.

  1. It looks better than 2098 at Brantford.

  2. Honestly I wonder when this thing was painted. It looks freshly painted and when I google it it shows in green..

It’s really clean to say the least.

  3. @kevin flood have you found any of these on cn in Vancouver? Might be a couple.

  4. Oh my a GP39 that’s amazing so awesome!

  5. Just shot BNSF 1507, but it was rejected by CN; it is now on BNSF locals. Cool shot!

  6. Thanks Kev!
