The joys of working the night shift. I was lucky that my old company basically backed onto CN’s Halton subdivision. I often bought my camera with me no matter what shift I was on and this night proved to be a good night to have it with me. I noticed heavily patches of low fog after finishing my shift and headed over to Mansewood after I noticed CN lining up a meet. The fog managed to block out most of the distant industrial lighting but also helped with the ambient lighting. Soon an eastbound pulled into the siding and I was able to frame this just before they turned off their ditch lights and prepared to meet a westbound. I’ve always enjoyed photography under foggy conditions no matter the time of day.

  1. Amazing shot Marcus!

  2. Marcus, a beautiful shot. The US&S H2 searchlights sure cuts a nice beam through the fog. Hopefully the signal upgraded to “Clear” before the westbound arrived.

  3. Great timing and excellent photo Marcus.

  4. Wow, fantastic image Marcus ! It’s pretty neat that you were able to capture a Clear to Stop signal.

  5. That is a great photo !
