An embarrassment of riches. This train went through Elkhart, Indiana, very early Frida morning, as a 1+1 DPU job. It died somewhere between Woodstock and Ayr yesterday and was parked overnight. (CP had a bad day yesterday...stalls, crews running out of time). So an unexpected treat this morning as 8906, KCS's 5015 4826 4797, CP 8800, BNSF 4466 and UP 5450 nose in DPU rumble through the snow just east of Cambridge. All the colours you could ask for.

  1. Good Grief !!!! Your patience out there along the Galt sub has certainly been rewarded. Very, very nice image!!

  2. What’s funny Arnold, is I missed the one forty minutes ahead of this, and was surprised to see this lined when I checked ATCS when I got home…..turned right back around for this happy fluke.

  3. And you didn’t think….awh, just another pair of grubby units. Thats the best lashup I have heard of in a while along the Galt.

  4. All the extra power taken off in Toronto.

  5. The five units behind the 8906 were the power consist on 734 the day prior, which tied down and died at Blandford.

  6. It floor me how long it takes trains to get over the Galt and Windsor Subs. When I worked as an operator, 904 for example would leave Windsor by 10:30, 2’15″ London, crew change and would be by Guelph Jct by 15:00.
