After hearing that CN had bought the Iowa Northern Railway, I was not expecting to see their power in far off Montreal, but it just goes to show that you should expect the unexpected....

Three IANR Geeps had arrived in Montreal on CN X276 at the end of May, gone east on CN 400 and then oddly came back west a few days later on CN 401. Since then they have finally entered local service in and near Montreal.

Here CN 401 passes Turcot Ouest with IC 2723, IC 2704, IANR 4100, IANR 3802 & IANR 3800.

  1. Remarkable catch!! I guess I am lucky to have seen them on their home grounds out in Iowa, as I missed the only one I have known of to be around Niagara. Nice looking, aren’t they?
