Caption: At what is a popular stop for those who are fortunate enough to show for when the #308 Englehart to Kidd train is returning, the shores of the Frederick House River provide the perfect setting. The sun angle is great, and there are various spots along the east side of the waters for some nice images.
You can see here that into the beginning of May there is still ice along the river. Most of it has broken up and gone downstream, but some still hugs the shoreline. While we were waiting, a few decent sized chunks floated by.
What a great spot. And for anyone coming up this way, mind the bug & mosquito season and come early, mid-April to early May.
In this scene ONR 2104 & 2124 are eastbound over the bridge around the noon hour.

A 2′nd unit 2122 should also be in service similar to 2124. I much prefer them painted.
I’m sure they will get around to it. It was a bummer of sorts to wait out the train northward out of North Bay and this same cruddy black paint on the lead.
