During a Saturday evening, CN GP9RM 4111 with caboose 79817, along with GP9RM 4109 and caboose 79513 await their next assignments in Kitchener, Ontario. Unlike today, during the mid-90’s the Kitchener-based CN locals rarely worked on the weekends, so power was easily shootable across from the VIA Rail station.

    Kitchener had two cabooses assigned until about 1996 or so. Then they just had one and then eventually just one was left in Guelph for back-up moves down the spurs and to Polycon.
