 February 14, 1984: A  25 car CN train derailed four miles west of Woodstock ( Beachville) causing $1 million (1984 $) damage. Half mile track torn up, propane tankers included in consist. Heavy rains blamed for weakening the track bed. Reportedly every spring new remnants of the derailment can be seen along the Beachville Thames River Trail – pushed up by the winter frost.
