This is my favourite image taken at Dundas. A very unusual angle; looking west toward the old Dundas Station (demo'd in 1986)and the MoW shanty, as well as a few automobiles to prove the location was not yet totally devoid of customers.
Track on left siding for stone cars from CCSL (now shut down) and possibly Steetly, which operated at this time a small crushed stone and gravel business. Off to the far left is the Steetly connection, lifted in the mid 1980s.
Lead unit on #72 is VIA 6786. Location from where this image was taken, the CCSL conveyer overhang, was dismantled in 1989, according to my notes.

  1. Awesome; but an insane shooting spot IMHO.

  2. I loved that spot so much I wish I could have dragged a lawnchair and a good book in, and spent a few days there. But it is gone now and I survived, which is good,:o), and I do agree, looking back, that it was indeed a rather idiotic place to hang around. When out, I am always looking for somewhere to climb. Bad habit.

  3. And now that i’ve seen the other side – it sure seems you can see the incline/cable pulled railway at right just through that tree and continuing on the grade downward.
