Point Edward is a stones throw away (across the street) and we are at the near end of what remains of the spur of the same name in Sarnia - about 2.8 miles long. CN Slug set is being operated by the job symbol IOX - a three man crew who switches Imperial Oil and this Elevator (and any rare moves on the CSX/CN North Interchange in Sarnia). The power is 7253, 277, and 7029 - written in the middle of the rear hood of 7029 is "BLOW ME 2011"

  1. That’s an awesome bit of trackage!

  2. I’m thinking the same. What do I like most about this photo? The composition, the trackage, or the date taken? :o )

  3. Thanks guys – Ha ha ha, seems my fingers slipped while typing and I must have been looking the other way :) I’ve always enjoyed this trackage but the IOX job runs on weekdays only (except very rare occasions) and the Elevator is seasonal.. only shot down here four or five times in 10 years. BTW: CNR 6069 is beside me on the right, looking real good thanks to the Volunteers who have restored her!
