After viewing the Del Rosamond collection, Mr. Richard Glueck wrote:

“Possibly some of the most wonderful, candid shots of Canadian steam, especially in its grittiest, glorious final hours. Although I live in Maine, I think Canadian steam is easily some of the finest to have ever graced the rails. I hope the gentleman is in a heaven where the Pacifics, ten-wheelers, and Mountains, run freely, and the Diesel horn isn’t even imagined. Please thank Del’s family on my behalf.”

My thanks to Richard for allowing me to share his words with you here on Railpictures.ca.

Since Richard first wrote, we have exchanged a number of e-mails. I’ve learned that he is the president of the New England Steam Corporation. They are in the early stages of executing a very well planned effort to restore Pacific-type locomotive #470 from the Main Central Railway. I hope you’ll take a moment to visit their website. I would also encourage you to consider supporting the cause by making a Paypal contribution. Thanks! Peter Newman
