Norfolk Southern train H53 is a transfer that runs from the Buffalo, NY area into the province of Ontario via what is known as the International Bridge located in Fort Erie, ON and Buffalo, NY. The bridge spans the Niagara River, and receives around 5-7 trains on normal days. Here, H53 is pictured with 2 of NS's SD40-2 locomotives idling for a RTC clearance and the engineer taking a short break outside. Minutes later, they fired the bad boys up and took off northbound towards Welland.

  1. Great you made it Maxxim to shoot the NS in Canada. Just be careful of your speculation, it can go wild pretty quickly :)

  2. This is the same power that ran the day before, only it brought over new GECX 2038 (blue) and new CN 2974. You were a day off, Maxim !! :o )

  3. Yes, it’s only a turn to Fort Erie.

  4. Northbound to Welland? Don’t they just put their train away at Duff then double up their outbound train and head back for the states? I don’t think they would need “clearance” as they are already past the light governing movements from the bridge.
