I had been in Carcross YT for about an hour when the WP&YR train arrived from Whitehorse. With a smile on my face, I spent about 20 minutes photographing the train. Carcross is a very interesting town with a lot of history. A few months after this picture was taken the WP&YR shut down.

  1. Don’t see very many images of the old White Pass in this paint scheme. Thanks for posting this one for us.

  2. Was this a mixed train?

  3. Great shot James. I’m not sure what looks better, this paint scheme, or the green and yellow.

Docta, yes, the WP&YR is 3-foot gauge.

  4. Is this narrow gauge? Looks like it on street view.
