Brother and I were offered a cab ride on the Ocean HFX to Moncton by VIA that summer, in return for a ticket SNAFU a month earlier when we went by RDC’S from Berwick to Sydney and back (DAR and CN rails). The day we showed up our neighbours had driven us, not mom. Then staff mentioned waivers but we had no parent or official guardian to sign, given we were still minors. Big disappointment!
Still, we were already booked to travel and had a nice trip to Ontario and back anyway. Still though, a chance to ride up front in an FPA-4 eluded us.
