Caption: A surprise visit from a lightning stripe holdover this GP38-2 waits to be spotted on the wheel truing machine with the end caps off of #1 & #2 wheels. Built in 1972 as Lehigh Valley #317,acquired as part of the Conrail merger in 1976 and numbered 7317. It became part of Guilford Transportation in 1983 as GTI #223. CP acquired it in 1991 and it was renumbered Delaware & Hudson 7303 in 1992.

  1. And CP made a mistake in the paint job as well. The Herald is not quite right and the lettering and number on flank should have been blue and not yellow. But what a nice catch !!
