Back in the days when CP was running over CN along the Oakville Sub, many times it was just endless CP GP9s but sometimes, as in this case, some interesting variety as well. It is a beautiful fall day, around noonish, as SOO 6056, CP 4573 ( it looks as if it might be ailing) and 'CPRS' 5423 in rather fresh paint roll toward Hamilton and eventually the USA. I knew the 5423 as GATX 2001, it spent some time running over the D&H. This image is taken from the Wolf Island Bridge (Plains Rd).

  1. CP 4573…had been reactivated from storage in 94….it survives today as WN&P 631 !

    was in the deadline when I photographed it in 2015..
