It was a bright and very warm Saturday back on the 24th of July 1976 when I staked out a spot just off Seaway Haulage Road on the east side of the Welland Canal in order to grab a shot of CN6060 (Toronto bound) on excursion as it was thru the summer months back then. It ran on Wed and Sat. And did a good business. I'm in the grass here along what I think is the remains of the old Third Canal and the CN Iron Bridge. Great memories!!! And my personal RP photo number one thousand. Finally.

  1. Thanks, Paul. Happy retirement, Paul. :o ) Now these memories are REALLY a thing of the past.

  2. Congrats on #1000 Arnold. All fabulous photos and many of them great reminders of my railroading days.

  3. Thanks, Paul. I have a couple more images from that area, but don’t want to tire everyone of 6060 pics. :o )

  4. Congrats on the 1000! Great picture and spend a lot of time in my youth at that location. Thank you for sharing!

  5. Thanks, Peter. I found a few more 6060 shots while looking for this one; so I will feed them along gradually. :o )

  6. Wonderful photo, Arnold – this shot brings back lots of fond memories! Congratulations on #1,000!

  7. I like to celebrate life’s random accomplishments. 999 seems like a good thing to celebrate.

  8. Than k you, Mr. Host. You didn’t think I was going to quit at 999 did you? :o )

  9. Congrats on #1000 Arnold!

  10. Thanks, Bill. Have fun out there today!

  11. Well done on 1000 my friend. Keep them coming!

  12. Appreciate this, Cdntrainphotog. Thanks. As I look over the widening time frame of all these images, I get to seriously wondering where all the years have gone……..

  13. Let me join the Chorus of Congratulations on Image 1000. That is quite the feat to have posted this many from across the country. Mooney- Train Buff Extraordinaire!!

  14. And thank you, Matt. Who knows where all this stuff would have ended up without being part of RP to share it with other train junkies.

  15. Congratulations on number 1000!

  16. Merci Mr. Smith. That was the good thing about the Steam. Two days a week you could count on a great image ON SCHEDULE and with the heat, the flies, the bugs, and cranky women, that made all the difference in the world. :o )

  17. 1000! Good grief! I just hit 200. These regular-running steam trips must have been quite the sight to see. Too bad those days are long gone. Thanks for continuing to post these great photos Arnold.

  18. Thanks, Jacob !!

  19. Congrats on #1000 Arnold! The 6060 trips were CN’s best PR trains.
